Exhibition Past

Colnaghi presented an array of the finest Old Master and Ancient masterworks for our Summer Exhibition, which opened with London Art Week. A highlight is Antonio Joli's serene view of Paestum, 1759, reflecting the renewed interest in antiquity in the Italian Baroque. Other spotlighted works include Rodrigo de Villandrando’s intricately detailed Portrait of a Noblewoman, c. 1620, a beautiful terracotta portrait bust by Charles Adrien Prosper d'Epinay (1836 – 1914) of Sarah Bernhardt as Hermione, c. 1903, and an important work by the female Renaissance artist, Fede Galizia, Still life of apples, pears, cucumbers, figs and a melon, c. 1625 – 1630.
