Upcoming Exhibition - London
Spanish Modern Landscapes
We are delighted to announce an exhibition of museum quality landscape paintings by Spanish modern masters, opening online in VR and at Colnaghi London from 17 March – 21 May 2021.

Spanish Modern Landscapes sees us collaborating once again with two of Barcelona’s most influential and venerable galleries, Sala Parés (est. 1877) and Artur Ramon Art (est. 1911), combining more than five hundred years of collective knowledge and experience. We have sourced the highest quality Spanish landscapes from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, many of which represent the pinnacle of the artist’s output. At a time when many of us are trapped inside, these paintings offer an escape into the beauty of rural Spain at the end of the nineteenth century. This joint venture builds upon the success of The Golden Age of Spanish Modern Art last year, bringing these Spanish Modernists to wider public recognition and appreciation around the globe. We look forward to sharing it with you.

Unlock the splendour of this late 16th century Tabletop, inlaid marble with polychrome stones, presented by Colnaghi for TEFAF Online New York 2020. Visit our online viewing room for TEFAF Online 2020 from 1- 4 November to learn more.

The practise of cutting precious stones, valued highly since the time of the ancient Egyptians, was developed in the Roman Empire and later flourished in the Renaissance as the pietra dura technique; an incredibly complex arrangement of finely cut stones, inserted in a ground of white marble. This table stands out as a true rarity because so few of these 16th century pieces survive today, and all are in prestigious public institutions.
